This quote sums up our recent weather, with Hurricane Ida being a notable exception. We are in the open windows zone - neither A/C nor heat required - with a touch of chill in the air as we get out of bed in the morning. The weekend ahead looks splendid, weather-wise, and there is still plenty to do outdoors, so let's revel in it! The NJ Sunflower Trail at Von Thun Farms - previously slated to close after Labor Day - is still in bloom and open for visitors. Oktoberfest-themed events are kicking off, Belvidere Heritage Day (a reincarnation of Victorian Days) is this Saturday, and there is still plenty of outdoor, live music to enjoy, day and night.
Confession: the photo above was taken across the border in Hunterdon County (maybe less than mile away, as the crow flies, in Alexandria Township). Because it was one of those gorgeous days last weekend, and that's where Dexter the Dog lives. We should all have such joy and enthusiasm in our hearts! Happy September, and Happy Wanderings!

UACNJ provides free public programs at the astronomy club in Jenny Jump State Forest from April through October on Saturday evenings. The astronomy presentation begins at 8pm and is followed by stargazing on the observatory's telescopes until 10:30pm, weather permitting.
