Autumn approaches! The fruit ripens, it’s time to harvest, the leaves will be displaying their blazing colors soon. It’s a perfect time for wandering in Warren County, to pick apples and enjoy freshly squeezed cider, to take on the challenge of a corn maze or traipse among acres of sunflowers, or just to enjoy nature's most glorious days of the year. Coming Up

Tap into your creative side with a pint in one hand a paint brush in the other. Art Across Borders will be providing an assortment of crafts for you to create such as rock painting, collaging on a cigar box, and paper marbling. Cost is $25 if you register before the event, $30 day of.

Donaldson Farms is pleased to offer fun and picturesque tours of approximately 25 acres of Black-Oil Sunflowers that are planted throughout our farm during the late summer and early fall! Public Sunflower Tours begin this weekend: Saturday, Sept. 9 at 9am, 12pm, & 5pm and Sunday, Sept. 10 at 9am, 12pm & 4pm.

This 7-acre, military-themed Corn Maze opens for the season with a special weekend where kids have the clout: Any youth 12 and younger can bring their military, police officer or firefighter family member to the corn maze for free, with their own paid admission.

The Canal Society of New Jersey offers a wide range of programming at Waterloo Village this year including the new Highlands Canal Boat Exhibit featuring the recently discovered remains of what may be the last Morris Canal Boat. Some of the historic buildings will be open, historic trades & crafts will be demonstrated, and there will be canal boat rides.

Join us at the brewery for a fundraiser to raise money for Stupid Cancer! Stupid Cancer is an organization that comprehensively addresses young adult cancer through advocacy, research, support, outreach, awareness, mobile health and social media.

One year ago, Joe Mahaffey, a Centenary Business Administration major from the class of 2010 and son of long-time university staff member and alumna, Trish Varn Mahaffey ‘75/’78, had a life-threatening motorcycle accident.

Come spend a pleasurable afternoon creating several tasty herbal blends. We will make homemade vanilla extract, meat rubs, herbal salts and herb infused oil. Everyone will participate in the preparation of these delicious treats, and take home a container of each to enjoy.

Spend an afternoon visiting the Jim and Mary Lee Museum at Plane 9 West in the Port Warren Heritage Area, Stewartsville, and the Warren County History Museum at Morris Canal Bread Lock Park in New Village, too. These two museums, both located at sites on the route of the old Morris Canal, are open and staffed by volunteers today, 1-4pm. Learn how the canal boats moved up and down the hills of northern New Jersey as they traversed the state from from Port Delaware – AKA Phillipsburg – to Jersey City. Walk the towpath trail, and learn about other aspects of Warren County's rich history.

The night sky as seen from the United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey observatories

The United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey provides free public programs at the UACNJ Observatory in Jenny Jump State Forest from April through October on Saturday evenings. This week's program is: "South Pole Telescope" presented by Gil Jeffer, NWJAA, NJIT.

Formerly known as the Belvidere Farmers Market, the Warren County Farmers Market provides a venue where local farmers, producers, and artisans come together to provide a variety of fresh produce and related products directly to the consumer. Open every Sunday, June-September.

Community Corner

Warren County conducts its annual Patriot Day observance, honoring all victims and residents of Warren County who perished in the Terrorist Attacks of 9/11/01 as well as Warren County Emergency Service personnel who have died in the line of duty.
