This weekend ushers in October, and with it comes hay rides to pumpkin patches and apple picking; a train ride to a corn maze; the kickoff of "spooktacular" activities such as the Hayride of Horrors and several performances of Country Gate Players' Young Frankenstein; plus Harvest Festivals, a Pig Roast, an Oktoberfest Dinner, a variety of live music options and more are offered in the coming week.

Enjoy live jazz at Nonpareil with Abe Ovadia! Abe has performed at a host famous jazz venues, including The Blue Note, The Iridium and The Kitano in Manhattan. Enjoy dinner, accompanied by relaxing acoustic jazz with no cover!

Pequest Trout Hatchery and Natural Resource Education Center

Join Wildlife Conservation Corps member and member of the NJ Woodland Stewards Program, John Hooven in a two-mile guided hike on the Pequest Wildlife Management Area trail system. Explore animal tracks and evidence, and immerse yourself in a variety of different habitats as you explore.

The Phillipsburg Railroad Historians will have its annual Autumn Open House on Saturday, October 1 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Now in its 4th year, this festival attracts many visitors who spend the day picking apples in the orchard, taking hay rides to the pumpkin patch, and strolling through a gallery of artisans and other vendors. Join the fun!

Come out to enjoy live music by Tri-State Rockers on Saturday and Bobby Clark on Sunday.  Join the fun with complimentary wine tasting, wine & food for purchase, pumpkin picking, tours, corn maze and so much more.

This one-day event will host local music group performances starting at 1pm at Main Street Gazebo. The local community will be able to enjoy a variety of music from bluegrass with Lisa Baldwin and Dave Haney to contemporary rock, while exploring local businesses, restaurants and breweries.

Brook Hollow Winery says: QCrew BBQ has done many excellent pig roasts for us for many years, offering packages to meet any event expectations and more. Providing everything from a whole slow roasted pig to Teriyaki Drizzled Sirloins to a variety of delicious sides and desserts.

Enjoy live music by the area's most talented musicians under our arbor. Each week a different band will appear for your entertainment, weather permitting.  Music times ~ Saturday, 1:30-5 pm and Sunday, 1-4:30 pm.

Celebrate October with an Oktoberfest Dinner at the Mountain Lake Fire Company, featuring the Jolly Bavarians Band.

Roy's Hall in Blairstown presents The Royal Scam, a Tribute to Steely Dan

It is no secret that the music of Steely Dan is probably the most original, complex, and interesting music of our time.

The local (NJ/NYC/Philly) band Grasping at Straws, which plays mostly Acoustic Pop/Rock/Folk, Covers & Originals, will perform at Rock Creek Tavern at 8 pm.

Enjoy live music by the area's most talented musicians under our arbor. Each week a different band will appear for your entertainment, weather permitting .Music times ~ Saturday, 1:30-5 pm and Sunday, 1-4:30 pm.

Caren Kennedy Trio will perform at Rock Creek Tavern at 3 pm.

Our farm market re-opens for the season on Wednesday, April 5! You'll be able to stock up on our own sauces, jams, jellies and baked goods. We'll have a full line of fruits, veggies, honey and honey products and more - see you there!

Ready for the 2016 Haunting Season! 

Corrado's Farm: Home of the Hayride of Horrors & Haunted House. Operating Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the month of October. 

The Rock Creek Tavern, Warren County's newest spot for night life, hosts "The Karl Jam" open mic/jam session every Thursday night. Running from 7-11 p.m., The Karl Jam is hosted by Karl Dietel, a longtime supporter of local music and one of the best keyboard players around.

The United Astronomy Clubs of NJ at the UACNJ Observatory runs a FREE outreach program for the public every Saturday night, April thru October, conducted from around 8-10 pm. Please check the website for a list of topics to be presented, directions, and for any additional information.

Community Corner

NORWESCAP, along with its partners, is hosting this Women's Journey to Wellness Event on Saturday. October, 1 from 10 a.m. -4 p.m. at St. Lukes Warren Campus in Phillipsburg.

Come out for Hackettstown's 10th Annual Community Day, sponsored by the Hackettstown Police Department, Hackettstown Medical Center, Mars Chocolate North America, and QuickChek!
