Once again, the coming week overflows with things to do - take your pick! Weekend Fall Farm Fun activities are underway at most area farm markets, some offering pick-your-own apples. See the whole list here. The kiddies in the photo above are riding the Cow Train at Tranquillity Farms in Allamuchy. The curtain is raised on a couple of new shows this weekend, there is plenty of live music for all tastes, and Warren County holds its 7th annual Preservation Day, returning this year to White Lake. Look for the Explore Warren table in the big tent there, we've got another prize giveaway! It's autumn's first weekend, so Happy Wanderings! 

Coming Up

Final performance the season at Lopatcong Park, Veterans Rally Point - thanks for the support all summer! Jim Sikra (accordion) & John Bronico (vocals). Funding has been made possible, in part, by the Warren County Cultural and Heritage Division of Land Preservation.

Buck Hill Brewery hosts an evening of tasting Classic Single Malts to include Oban 14 year and Lagavulin 16 year along with a tasting of Buck Hill Brews. This event will book up fast! A fantastic four course menu will pair with the tasting.

Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical follows 8-year-old Lily Polkadot who just moved to the "Squares Only" small town of Rockaway. As the first Polkadot in an all Square school, Lily faces an almost impossible task of gaining acceptance from her peers.

Celebrate Oktoberfest in Hackettstown all weekend long!

Unwind from the week and relax under the arbor enjoying great wine, food, and music. Starting at noon, Chef Anthony Fiore of Trattoria Di Fiore will have the following culinary treats available for purchase: freshly made wood-fired Pizza, Caprese Salad, Paninis, and Charcuterie.

Fall Fest is a great way to spend a day outside with your family and enjoy the beautiful surroundings! ​No admission fee to visit the farm, and some activities are free, but there are fees for hayrides to pumpkin pick, testing your skills on the bounce pillow, corn maze, and cow train.

A 5-mile Memorial Ruck (walk) through the community, in loving memory of Joseph Doran, an Army Veteran and Phillipsburg High School graduate. Ruck steps off at 10am, following the 9:30 ceremony.

Join the Warren County Department of Land Preservation and numerous affiliates in celebrating Warren County’s vast array of parkland, historic preservation locations, farmland, and open space.

The Centerville and Southwestern Miniature Railroad will be operating, and its museum and gift shop will be open. Admission is free.

The Frost is a duo based out of Scranton PA comprised of members LeahBeth Evans and Christian Gratz. They are a multi genre group that play all the songs you love and write ones that you can't forget. They take requests and will bounce from jazz to disco, and country to top 40 hits. 

Experience a delicious farm-fresh dinner and views of growing fruit in the rolling Warren County hills that is home to TreeLicious Orchards. Hosted and prepared by the farm owners, the Kesler Family, this three-course meal features fresh fruits and vegetables such as asparagus and rhubarb.

The Farmers’ Market offers quality fruits and vegetables as well as specialty items with special events throughout the season. The weekly farmers’ market takes place every Saturday through the end of October, from 10am-2pm.

Saturday evenings between April and October 2019, the United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey (UACNJ) Observatory, located in Jenny Jump State Forest in Hope, NJ will be open.

Join certified Yoga Teacher Kate McGuiness for a one hour, all levels Hatha Yoga class. All levels of experience are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing, bring water and a yoga mat.

This year's corn maze pays tribute to the Huey helicopter, the workhorse of the Vietnam War. The maze is open 11am-6pm Wednesday to Sunday each week through November 11 (call for a Monday or Tuesday visit).

Plan Ahead

Arnold Ridley's classic drama was first produced in 1925 and filmed no less than three times. A long running success in London and on Broadway and packed with thrills, chills and laughter.

The Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Warren County (DASACC) hosts its fourth annual Oktoberfest at Hawk Pointe Golf Club.  Doors open at 6pm, with dinner being served at 6:45pm.

Rolling hills, farmland vistas, the Appalachian Ridge, Paulinskill Valley Rail Trail, and a town of proud heritage all come together in one tremendous cycling event. Blairstown is just 1.25 hours from NYC and Philadelphia and 7 miles off I-80, Exit 12.

Help the Ridge and Valley Conservancy stewards at Mountainwood Spring Preserve for trail rehabilitation. The preserve is approximately 2 miles north of White Lake, a turn off of Stillwater Road onto Mallard Pond Road (which has no street sign).

Acclaimed guitarist Sonny Landreth and his trio perform at Roy's Hall. Southwest Louisiana-based guitarist, songwriter, and singer Sonny Landreth is a musician’s musician. His blues slide guitar playing is distinctive and unlike anything else you’ve ever heard.

The Ramsaysburg Homestead is a historical park on twelve wooded acres along the Delaware River, just south of the Delaware Water Gap. The festival is free, rain or shine. 

Gerrie Scioscio of the Warren County Library will teach a 4-week Intermediate class on consecutive Sunday afternoons. You will increase your knowledge and skills by learning various approaches and patterns. At the end of the program, you will have a finished project to take home.

The Music at St. Luke’s series continues with the return of the Lehigh Valley Chorus, “The Lehigh Valley’s Award Winning All Female Barbershop Chorus.” Their motto is “Spreading joy through women’s barbershop harmony since 1958." They will perform at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 6.

Kris Ensiminger of Humdinger Alpacas will teach a three-week Beginner class on consecutive Wednesday evenings. Learn the basics of knit and crochet and bring a finished project home with you.

Calling all Veteran Warriors! The Farm In Harmony and M-Power Yoga team up to offer this program. Do you find your gears spinning all day? This will help you slow it down, reset and recharge through the power of relaxed breathing controlled moment.
