Warren County Wanderings

“Autumn leaves don’t fall, they fly. They take their time and wander on their only chance to soar.” - Delia Owens, researcher, author

Today marks the Autumn Equinox, though leaves have been "flying" for weeks now. There is something special about fall, as we return to its crisp air and beautiful colors; we turn the page to begin another chapter anew. And for some of us, it's a time for all things pumpkin-flavored! This week’s cover photo, taken by Warren County staffer Erin Burnett, depicts last year’s fall display in front of the Catherine Dickson Hofman Branch of the Warren County Library in Blairstown.

Check out Hackettstown Oktoberfest, one of several Oktoberfest-themed events on tap in Warren County. Venture over to Corrado’s Hayride of Horrors and Haunted House for its opening weekend, and see about a special rate for all three of its attractions.

Another major happening this weekend - speaking of flying and soaring - is the first Warren County Hot Air Balloons, Fun & Games Festival at Warren Community College (details below), which includes drone racing and demonstrations!

There is plenty of time to enjoy live music, including the Riverside Rhythm Swing Band at the Ramsaysburg Historic Homestead.

Be sure to peruse the Plan Ahead section, as this is going to be a busy fall in Warren County. The weekend weather looks amazing, perfect for your Wanderings!
