Warren County Wanderings

Starting September 15, 2022

"I cannot endure to waste anything so precious as autumnal sunshine by staying in the house." - Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804-1864), American novelist and short story writer

Fall is in the air, with warm days and cool nights, and Wanderings is jammed full of things to do that’ll get you outside! VonThun Farms (pictured above) is having its Fall Festival opening weekend, where grandparents enjoy free admission when accompanied by a kiddo with activities like pumpkin picking, hayrides, a corn maze and apple picking! If you go, you may as well head down the road a bit further to check out Washington's Festival in the Borough, an all-day street fair filled with music and activities. Blairstown is having its annual town-wide yard sale, while Buttzville Brewing’s 2nd Annual Grains and Gears ride has been rescheduled for this Sunday, having been rained out last weekend.

With the third and final Warren County Balloon Fest of the year coming to Warren Community College next week, and in honor of Balloomination - which Explore Warren is proud to help sponsor! - kids can enter the coloring contest in More Things To Do. Prizes include a tethered balloon ride and getting to push the "blast" button to light up a balloon!

We hope this small intro gets you excited for this week's issue because there's plenty more where that came from! Happy mid-September and Happy Wanderings!
