What a glorious time of year it is to Explore Warren County! Local apples are here and Pick-Your-Own activities have begun at most farms. It's a great time to get out for a hike, so remember that trails at beautiful places such as Merrill Creek Reservoir and Jenny Jump State Forest await you free of charge. Join Ridge & Valley Conservancy Trustee & Naturalist Dennis Briede for a hike to the top of the Raccoon Ridge Hawk Watch. Meet at RVC at 8AM to car pool to the Yards Creek Generating Station (Kaiser Trail) Parking Lot.

The fall rush is on so don't wait any longer - take your Hunter Education class at the hatchery. You must have your completed homework with you at the class and be pre-registered. Register for your class at www.nj.wildlifelicense.com.

The PVTC, a Friends Organization of the Kittatinny Valley State Park, will host a 4-5 mile hike along the Paulinskill Valley Trail.  The trail is cinder-based which provides easy, level walking.

Centenary Stage Company’s Young Audience Series returns for the 2016 – 17 season on Saturday, September 17 at 11am in the Little Theater with the family favorite musical, Miss Nelson is Missing.

Two separate workshops will be held this day; reservations required for each.

Island Dragway Footbrake Challenge

A Guaranteed Payout Footbrake Race plus Test/Tune. Gates open at 10 a.m., time trials begin 12 p.m., elim around 2:30. Test/Tune available 12-5 p.m.

This 10th annual event, which brings the whole community together, will be held on Main Street from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The street will be filled with local shop sidewalk sales and displays, vendors, crafters and artists, food and live entertainment.

Jazz at Rutherfurd Hall kicks off its fifth season on Sunday, September 18, with two of America’s great jazz pianists, Bill Mays and Ted Rosenthal. Both of these talented artists will be backed by a solid rhythm section with Steve Varner on bass and Steve Johns on drums.

The Rock Creek Tavern, Warren County's newest spot for night life, hosts "The Karl Jam" open mic/jam session every Thursday night. Running from 7-11 p.m., The Karl Jam is hosted by Karl Dietel, a longtime supporter of local music and one of the best keyboard players around.

The public is cordially invited to attend a ceremony sponsored by the veterans in The American Legion, Carl D. Archer Post 528, honoring those not able to be with us. 

The OCS Education Foundation holds its first Golf Outing. Registration is 12 p.m. for a 1 p.m. Shotgun Start. Entry Fee: $125 which includes green fees, cart, lunch and use of driving range, putting greens and lockers. Dinner to follow the tournament is $50 per person.

The Franklin Township Historical Commission in conjunction with the Franklin Township Committee proudly presents The History of the Wedding Dress by Johanna's Boutique, followed by an old fashioned reception in the church's Fellowship Hall.
