"I can smell autumn dancing in the breeze. The sweet chill of pumpkin, and crisp sunburnt leaves." – Ann Drake
This week's cover photo was taken by David Dech as he toured Warren County on bike recently, and paused at Ghost Lake in Independence Township to enjoy the view. Our fall farm fun season is now in full swing, with apples and pumpkins and cider and more, and the fall foliage is starting to turn. Keep track of the leaves to make sure you catch them at their peak by checking out the New Jersey Forest Service and its Facebook page where the Current New Jersey Fall Foliage Conditions. NJFS will post an updated graphic with suggestions on where to go for the best foliage every Friday during the fall season. So drink in the beauty now (and remember it when you need to rake them in a few weeks!) as you wander in Warren. Speaking of wandering, see the Plan Ahead section and mark your calendar for the Explore Warren History Trail, a two-day, self-guided tour of heritage sites throughout the county. This is the inaugural edition of what we hope becomes an annual event! There is a lot more ahead, so read on, carpe leafem, and Happy Wanderings!
