Warren County Wanderings

Starting October 5, 2022

"Life is populated with scarecrows—all those people and things that seem so scary and trouble our sleep. Isn't it nice to know that most of them turn out to be made of nothing but straw?" - Jerry Spinelli, American children's author

Now that it’s officially October, this week’s cover photo from Flowerland Growers reminds us to inform our Wanderers that Hackettstown BID is hosting a Scarecrow Selfie Contest beginning October 10, so there’s no need to wait for a big parade to participate in some Halloween fun!

The many noteworthy activities on tap this weekend include Phillipsburg’s Pork Roll Palooza, Longmeadow Farm’s annual Harvest Fest (postponed from last weekend due to uncooperative weather), and a Fall Festival further up Rt. 519 in Frelinghuysen.

Speaking of fall festivals, there is such an abundance of activities, it’s a challenge to keep it all organized! We tried to compile it here, and please remember to keep an eye on our “Continuing” section below.

Fall fun is everywhere! Happy Wanderings!
