Join Metrotrails for a hike on the scenic and historic Morris Canal route between Hackettstown and Washington, about 16 miles total. Meet at Port Colden Mall to carpool to the starting point. Bring water, snack, appropriate footwear and dress for the weather.

Morris Canal Bread Lock Park is open daily until dusk, but the museum is open the second Sunday of the month. Lock 7 West near New Village was known as "Bread Lock" because the store at the end of the lock sold goods to the boatmen, including homemade bread and pies.
