The apples are ripe, there's still some sweet corn left, it's not too early to pick your pumpkin - it's a perfect time to wander in Warren County! The Phillipsburg Railroad Historians will have its annual Autumn Open House. The Centerville and Southwestern Miniature Railroad will be operating and their museum and car shop will be open for your perusal. Admission is free. You may also wish to check out the gift shop while in the museum.

The Longmeadow Farm 5th Annual Harvest Festival will have apple, pumpkin and raspberry picking all day with hayrides through Spook Hollow and their corn maze, The Labyrinth! They have a great variety of jams, jellies, their own honey, super sweet corn and seasonal veggies!

Spend an afternoon visiting the Jim and Mary Lee Museum at Plane 9 West in the Port Warren Heritage Area, Stewartsville - it's the final Sunday before that site closes for the season - and the Warren County History Museum at Morris Canal Bread Lock Park in New Village, too. These two museums, both located at sites on the route of the old Morris Canal, are open and staffed by volunteers today, 1-4pm. Learn how the canal boats moved up and down the hills of northern New Jersey as they traversed the state from from Port Delaware – AKA Phillipsburg – to Jersey City. Walk the towpath trail, and learn about other aspects of Warren County's rich history.

Rutherfurd Hall was to kick off its 2017-18 Jazz series with legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, but due to Bucky's sudden illness he will be unable to perform. The event will continue, however, with the following outstanding musicians:

This 7-acre, military-themed Corn Maze is open for the season through November 10, Wednesday through Sunday, 9am-6pm (Monday and Tuesday by appointment) and culminating with a free invitation-only event for veterans and their families on Veterans Day, November 11.

In the month of October, every Delaware River Railroad Excursion train is The Great Pumpkin Train. When riding the Great Pumpkin Train, every child will be able to pick their own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. $18/adult; $12/child. Trips leave 11am, 12:30pm, 2pm and 3:30pm.

The night sky as seen from the United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey observatories

The United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey provides free public programs at the UACNJ Observatory in Jenny Jump State Forest from April through October on Saturday evenings. This week's program is: "What's up in the October Sky?" with Lonny Buinis, RVCC.

FREE Open Kayaking until further notice, Sundays 10am - 1pm. A limited amount of kayaks are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for the public to enjoy. Life vests and paddles are included.
