Warren County Wanderings

Starting November 7, 2018

"The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war." - Douglas MacArthur

Veterans Day, which is this Sunday, originally was called Armistice Day and marked the end of World War I. This year we note the 100th anniversary since "the war to end all wars" (if only that had come to be!) ceased on Nov. 11, 1918. Warren County will mark this and honor all veterans with a public ceremony held at the Warren County War Memorial, pictured here at the County's annual Veterans Recognition Ceremony a few years ago. Read about that and other activities below, and check out our special page to help you plan for the next holiday on the horizon, Thanksgiving. With a salute to all veterans, we say Happy Wanderings!
