Ready or not, the Christmas season is upon us. We don't mean to alarm you; there is still plenty of time for shopping, baking, cards and Christmas trees! But below you will find numerous opportunities to visit with Santa in the coming week (such as Father Christmas at the Farmstead, pictured here from a couple years ago), as well as crafts (shoppping for them and making your own), and all other sorts of Christmas-themed entertainment. Billy Bob Thornton and Frances McDormand star in a modern classic flim from Joel and Ethan Coen. Every Wednesday, escape from the modern trappings of TV and the internet with an old-fashioned evening at the movies in the vintage atmosphere of Blairstown's Roy's Hall. Titles change weekly.

Join the Musconetcong Watershed Association and celebrate the Asbury Mill restoration progress at a fundraiser dinner. The Mill’s restoration reached major milestones last year and funding is critical for MWA to move forward with exterior restoration and adapting the interior for reuse

Get into the Christmas spirit and wear that ugly sweater! This event is hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mountain Lake Fire Company. $10/person (age 21 & up) includes buffet, cash bar, and drink specials. Ugly sweaters not required, but it makes it more fun!

More than 130 of the area's finest crafters and artisans come together for this one-day juried event to display their unique handmade items. The event features door prizes, lunch options, bake sales, and more for a fun-filled holiday shopping experience.

It's Christmas time! Create your own fresh evergreen 16″ wreath using various types of pine and holly. These contrasting greens will be wire wrapped onto a metal-form; making a long-lasting attractive display. You can also add decorative pine cones and a colorful bow.

This is the 41st year of a wonderful town-wide holiday event with more than 200 artisans participating. Upon  arrival, there is a one time $4 fee that allows shoppers access to all the buildings and the shuttle buses that travel through the town both days.

Step back into another era where the toys and games didn't need batteries. Old-time decorations adorn the buildings while volunteers and National Park staff in period clothing demonstrate how the season was celebrated in years past. The kids can make a decoration or play with some of the wonderful old-time toys and games in the parlor. Light seasonal refreshments served. Don't forget to come back the next day for the old fashioned Christmas service and carol singing!

A gift made by hand is a gift from the heart. Come on out to make cork ornaments for your tree, cork wreaths for your door, cork trivets for the kitchen and other items to gift. We provide the recycled corks and glue gun; you provide your imagination!

Visit the historical mansion while it is decorated for the holidays. There will be family photo opportunities with Santa, music, holiday crafts and much more. Free event (Donations gladly accepted).

Don't miss the last opportunity to ride the Centerville and Southwestern minature train in 2018! Santa will arrive on a fire truck at 1pm, will greet everyone and then ride the first train. After the ride Santa will sit and take wish lists from the children. There will be hot chocolate, coffee and cookies for all and small gift bags for the children. Free admission.

Experience the pleasure of Well-Sweep Herb Farm's greenhouses – filled with unusual blossoms and exotic scents. Join us for an informative lecture-tour of its collection of herbs from around the world. This is a wonderful way to learn about the rare and unusual, as well as familiar herbs.

Following the downtown Belvidere Tree Lighting (5-7pm) you can experience the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas past at Belvidere’s first Wassail Tour. Enjoy complimentary wassail and snacks in some of Belvidere’s historic homes. Travel from house to house, visiting parlors decorated for the holidays!

Peter Karp has carved out his own unique niche as one of the finest contemporary Americana and blues artists around, singer-songwriter, slide guitarist and pianist. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz, and it took the world by storm. Led by the international hit, "Day by Day," Godspell features a parade of beloved songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage.

Under a Ton is a rock, country, pop, hip-hop and dance band. Come by and check them out. Drink and food specials will be offered.

Santa Claus will be visiting during their regular Sunday Brunch. Ol' Saint Nick will be taking photos with good children and listening to their Christmas wish lists. Get the family together for a Christmas brunch celebration!

Come by and listen to talented high school A Cappella groups in the decorated mansion. This is a free event sponsored by the friends of Rutherfurd Hall. Refreshments will be available for sale! 

Tour this Georgian-style manor, constructed of local stone, with two foot thick stone walls and three immense chimneys, decorated for the holiday season, and learn about Warren County's early iron industry and the people who worked in it. Steve Miller of Paddy and the Pale Boys will be playing the hammered dulcimer from 1-3pm; and the Stone Soup Symphony Trio performs from 3-4 pm. Guided tours will be conducted on the hour (1-2, 2-3 & 3-4pm), so please try to arrive no later than 3pm.

The Traveling Lantern Theatre Company presents “The Story of Ebenezer Scrooge” at the Warren County Library Headquarters. Ebenezer Scrooge is a nasty, mean and snarling old geezer, with no care for anything other than his money.

Community Corner

All-you-can-eat Country Breakfast the first Saturday of every month! Omelets, pancakes, French toast, hash browns, pork roll and sausage.  $9/person.

Greet Santa at the Lakeview Room and enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast. Santa will be arriving at 10am.

Cost is $8 per adult, $7 per seniors, and $5 per child age 10 and under.

Boy Scout Venture Crew #63 is hosting its annual Breakfast with Santa at Old Greenwich Presbyterian Church. The cost is $6 for adults, $5 for youth ages 6-12 and is free for children under five years old.

Join the Washington BID on the first Tuesday of every month for an evening of casual networking. This is a free to attend event where BID Goodnight Networking allows local business people to meet new colleagues and reconnect with those they know. Please bring a coverd dish and BYOB.
