"A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself."- Joseph Campbell, American writer
As the first taste of summer rolls around this Memorial Day weekend and we look forward to family, barbeques and parades, we remember those who have made these privileges possible. We are grateful to all who have served and are currently serving in the U.S. military, but on Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who died - the ultimate sacrifice - while serving our country. To commemorate the occasion, in this issue you will find parades stepping off in Blairstown, Phillipsburg and Hackettstown; and a service at Veterans Rally Point in Lopatcong.
On a lighter note, Land of Make Believe, opens for the season this weekend, celebrating 68 years of family fun; Well-Sweep Herb Farm welcomes you to its Spring Open House complete with tours, food, crafts and vendors; Memorial Motor Madness returns to Mars Wrigley for 26th year; and much more!
Happy Memorial Day and Happy Wanderings!
