Memorial Day weekend marks the traditional start of the summer fun season, but before we jump right into a three-day break full of picnics, parties, and other warm-weather fun, let's pause to remember the servicemen and servicewomen who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedoms. In honor of Memorial Day, Blairstown Historic Preservation Committee's final event of History Month 2018 is a tour and tribute to our Veterans who are interred at Cedar Ridge Cemetery. There are over three hundred Veterans who are buried here.
The Blairstown Memorial Day Parade is sponsored by Givens-Belet Post #258 American Legion. There will be a ceremony at Cedar Ridge Cemetery at noon with the parade to follow.
Phillipsburg honors our fallen service members , EMS/Fire volunteers, and Police. The parade starts at Abbott Street and proceeds to Shappell Park for a wreath laying and ceremony. It then continues to Union Square for a joint ceremony on the Free Bridge with Easton, PA.
Hosted by American Legion Blue Ridge Post 164, the 150th Annual Memorial Day Parade and Observance will run regardless of weather. The parade steps off at Valentine Street at 9:30am and proceed down Route 46 to Mountain Avenue, concluding with a service at Union Cemetery.
Come to the Ramsaysburg Homestead historic park for a picnic! The event will take place rain or shine both inside the historic barns and on the spacious park-like grounds. This is a free event for all to attend.

Join artist and art teacher Suzanne Montgomery for four Friday night lessons exploring portraits through drawing and painting. Lessons will be held at a private barn in Hardwick, NJ on Friday in June from 7-9pm. Donation is $60 and all proceeds go directly towards RVC's efforts to preserve land.
This is part of a series of beginner quilting classes that will teach three foundation skills necessary in any quilt pattern. By learning these techniques for creating the different shapes, the student’s ability to successfully create block units to size is significantly improved.
