Our hearts are full of love for dads this weekend and always! This photo taken by Cortney Torres at Merrill Creek speaks volumes to that sentiment.

This week’s Wanderings is chock full of events celebrating dad. From Villa Milagro’s Loud Guitars, Big Cigars and Ugly Ties to Mt. Lake Fire Company’s Father’s Day Breakfast to free admission for dad at Land of Make Believe.

The weather looks beautiful as well this weekend, perfect for a trip to Washington Borough for opening day of the farmer’s market on Saturday in the Pocket Park or a fun field day event at Meadow Breeze Park complete with games, food and prizes.

Phillipsburg kicks off the summer season by celebrating with its 33rd Annual Ole Town Festival in Shappell and Walters Parks in Phillipsburg.

Chef Anthony, Trattoria Di Fiore, will feature a Bourbon Skirt steak salad, grilled flank steak sandwich, and a special pizza. Regular menu of freshly made wood-fired pizza, salad, paninis, and arancini is also available for purchase.

Spend part of your afternoon at Brook Hollow Winery and Event Facility for live music. Enjoy 3 days of music with Rich Berry Friday evening, Kate and Paul on Saturday and George Baier on Sunday.

No reservations required this year! Doors open @ 5pm, music starts around 6:30pm.

The Draught House presents Jimmy & The Parrots. Grab your beach chair, your suntan oil, and your favorite drink, and get ready for a trip to the islands!

2021 Farmers' Market season is kicking off Saturday June 19 with the annual Geenfest along with the arts, crafts, and music festival.

Join us each Saturday in downtown Washington borough through October 2 from 10am to 2pm.

Good Will Fire Company #1 is hosting their first car and truck show. This year welcomes pickup trucks, cars, motorcycles, Big Rig, and Jeeps. The main attraction for attendees will be a car show with an anticipated 200 vehicles. Food, drinks and live music will also be available.

An afternoon of family fun, including games, sports, yoga, giveaways and music! Special appearances by Emmy-nominated rapper/actor, T.O.N.E.-z, as well as Magician and Art-Bullying Educator, Michael Kirschner.

Music will fill the air, performed by local musician Rich Berry. With an eclectic mix, Rich adds his own twist to songs of the '50s, '60s and '70s, classic country and more!

This weekend's music features Dave Read. He is an in demand musician whose repertoire ranges from popular rock, blues, country and reggae to even Hawaiian luau (he plays ukulele). What most distinguishes Dave is that people just joyously sing along with him!

Enjoy a dinner to go including Penne with sauce, meatballs, salad, roll and brownie. $12 per meal (cash only) and advanced tickets purchases are encouraged.

This comedy night features Baker and Mark with voluntary audience participation.

UACNJ provides free public programs at the astronomy club in Jenny Jump State Forest from April through October on Saturday evenings. The astronomy presentation begins at 8pm and is followed by stargazing on the observatory's telescopes until 10:30pm, weather permitting.

Phillipsburg is celebrating its 34th Annual Ole Town Festival in Shappell Park. This festival, which initially began as a way for a variety of local non-profit organizations to make money in support of their causes, has grown into a yearly tradition that simply cannot be missed.
