"The walls were wet and sticky, and peach juice was dripping from the ceiling. James opened his mouth and caught some of it on his tongue. It tasted delicious." - from James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl.
Who doesn’t love the works of Roald Dahl? Moving on, those of us fortunate enough to live in this corner of the state are impervious to the ubiquitous “What exit?” jokes. We know that New Jersey is truly the Garden State, and you don’t have to look very far for proof of that these days. Local peaches are here! Our cover photo was nicked from Best’s Fruit Farm in Independence Township, and peach sundaes are being offered by Mackey’s Orchard at the western end of Warren County in White Township. Peaches aren’t your fave? You have our sympathy, but hope you are feasting on Jersey Fresh zucchini, corn, tomatoes and more!
In addition to all the wonderful produce available, Warren County has plenty of fun things to see and do! Read on for details on upcoming events, and Happy Wanderings!
