“Escape from the black cloud that surrounds you. Then you will see your own light as radiant as the full moon.” - Rumi, 13th- century Persian poet
Have you noticed that in recent years it seems as if every full moon is supposed to be a big deal? The term ‘supermoon’ gets tossed about with reckless abandon? Well, tonight (July 13), the Buck Moon will in fact arrive at its closest point to Earth for the year 2022. To celebrate, Warren County Parks hosts a moonlight paddle at White Lake (pictured, in 2019); Rutherfurd Hall offers two moon paddles on Allamuchy Pond; and Ridge and Valley Conservancy leads the way on its monthly full moon hike at Dark Moon Preserve.
The farms around Warren County are feeling the vibes, too. Mohican Farms brings you Farm Fest, a day of bands, food, drinks and a mechanical bull! Donaldson Farms is bringing funny to the farm with comedian Adam Oliensis.
We know this newsletter can run a bit long – Is that a bad thing? That Warren County offers so many fun and interesting things to do? – But we encourage you to stay focused and keep an eye on our “Continuing” section, which lists a variety of concert series, and many are free! The venues may stay the same, but the artists change each week.
Without further delay, we will leave you to it! Happy Buck Moon - let your own radiant light shine - and Happy Wanderings!
