Warren County Wanderings

“Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance, you must keep moving.” - Albert Einstein (1879-1955), German-born physicist who developed the special and general theories of relativity

Today's cover photo, courtesy of Charlie Fineran, depicts a newly completed bridge along the Morris Canal Greenway. Until recently, hikers encountered a large dip in the mostly level towpath trail where a stream breaches the canal route. The 60-foot-long steel span, located within Allamuchy Mountain State Park, was constructed by the Warren County Division of Bridges and state parks personnel. Hikers and cyclists can now have an uninterrupted jaunt of about two miles through the woods from Bilby Road in Hackettstown to Waterloo Road (County Route 604) at Saxton Falls in Allamuchy.

In case you're wondering, the carnation is the birth flower for January, and the color white symbolizes good fortune and purity. This is our first issue of  the new year, we hope you're used to writing 2021 on your checks by now! Happy Wanderings!
