Hey! Hey you! Are you looking for things to do this weekend, specifically winter things? Don't fret, take a peek at Warren County Wanderings, just like this little gray squirrel photographed by Warren County resident Charlie Fineran. Jump start your weekend with great tunes bound to warm you up and then head over to Hackettstown for their annual Winterfest. Or listen to the soulful sounds of Damn Tall Buildings performing during at Centenary Stage Company's January Thaw Fest.

While the calendar has been a little empty this month, rest assured it won't be that way for long! Happy Peeking and Happy Wanderings!

Coming Up

Explore Centenary's career-focused academic programs, take a student-led tour of the beautiful campus and a chance to meet faculty and staff to your questions answered. Talk with representatives from Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Life, the Career Center, and more.

Bundle up for a brisk stroll through the Hackettstown Business District. Take a turn around an iceless skating rink (pictured - skates provided) and a trackless train (for adults and kids), two fire pits to roast your marshmallows or grab a hot chocolate.

Are you ready for a smashing good time? The Barefoot Grape Stomping is a one of a kind experience, sure to intoxicate all your senses. The event begins with a formal wine tasting followed by a mouth-watering Chicken Parmesan dinner served with roasted vegetables, salad, bread and dessert.

This is a group of people with an appreciation for the classical guitar and perform in a relaxed atmosphere, share ideas and experiences in an effort to improve. Group outings are organized to classical guitar performances and group visits to sites of interest to the classical guitarist.

Create beautiful marbled paper great for making cards, collage and anything else you can craft! This is a fun and meditative process taught by Sam. All materials are provided. Cost is $25.

How well do you know music, bands or singers? Get your trivia on for a chance to win prizes, sing along and enjoy some great beers!

Print making is a vast medium so start small (think stamps), carving your own designs to create mini printmaking plates. You get to take home your plates and all prints at the end of the workshop. This is best for ages 13 and up. Cost is $40.

A Rutgers Environmental Steward is a volunteer trained in the important environmental issues affecting New Jersey and work to help solve local environmental problems. No previous experience needed.

More Things to Do

Warren County Community Singers are looking for members to join their adult choir. Members come from Warren, Hunterdon and other counties. Adult rehearsals are held every Tuesday from 7:30 - 9:30pm.

The Children’s Chorus of Warren County is also open for enrollment. Child rehearsals start February 7. They are sponsored by the WCCS and its singers are funded in part by a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts through the Warren County Cultural and Heritage Division of the county Land Preservation Department.
