If you do decide to venture out to ring in the New Year, below are a few options. For those who want to kick off 2023 with an outdoorsy, healthy vibe, there are three different group hikes from which to choose. Looking ahead, there is a sneak peek at some January events to help beat the winter doldrums.

DJ Shatner hosts an "Eve of NYE Party" at the Draught House!
Three seatings: 4-6pm; 6:15-8:15pm; 8:30-10:30pm. Four courses, $85/person

NJ Parks and Forests have a list of first day hikes, including one kicking off at Marble Hill for a 15-mile full-day hike along the Warren Highlands Trail! The route includes lovely pastoral views along Harmony Ridge, historic logging roads and passes by historic farmsteads.
The PVTC, a Friends Organization of the Kittatinny Valley State Park, will host a 4-5 mile hike along the Paulinskill Valley Trail. The trail is cinder-based which provides easy, level walking. Meeting at Footbridge Park in Blairstown.

Join Warren County Parks Foundation for a hike around the lake or only halfway. Well-behaved pups are welcome on a leash.

Start your year off on the right foot- literally! Join Park Naturalist, Jennifer Correa-Kruegel, for a beautiful 4 miles hike around White Lake on New Year’s Day.
