Warren County Wanderings

This summer has flown by, and now the end is nigh... Labor Day Weekend is the finale to the summer vacation season. But don't fret, there's plenty of fun to be had yet! Cool off at Land of Make Believe (pictured above), which is open daily through Monday plus the following weekend, or one of the other lakes and pools open to the public. Apple picking is now underway at Longmeadow Farm and other orchards around the county, and the Sunflower Tours at Donaldson Farms have kicked off as well. And plenty of great events are listed below. Bring your blanket(s) or chair(s) for a great night under the stars! The movie will begin at dusk (around 8:15 p.m.) but the fun starts early! "Making Faces" Face Painting will be onsite for complimentary face painting starting at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Villa Milagro Vineyards end of summer picnic

Villa Milagro is hosting their last summer picnic, both Saturday and Sunday. Labor Day weekend marks the end of the summer vacation season, and the winery invites you to stop by.

Shippen Manor Summer Lawn Concert Series features Paddy and the Pale Boys, who play the traditional songs and music of Ireland and Scotland, along with some good ol' boy country and rock'n'roll.

The PVTC, a Friends Organization of the Kittatinny Valley State Park, will host a 4-5 mile hike along the Paulinskill Valley Trail.  The trail is cinder-based which provides easy, level walking.  Meeting at Footbridge Park in Blairstown.

The Rock Creek Tavern, Warren County's newest spot for night life, hosts "The Karl Jam" open mic/jam session every Thursday night. Running from 7-11 p.m., The Karl Jam is hosted by Karl Dietel, a longtime supporter of local music and one of the best keyboard players around.
