The sun sets on summer vacation season with the Labor Day holiday weekend, just as it's setting in this great photo Elizabeth Roy took while kayaking at White Lake. We hope you had fun over the summer, and spent some of it wandering in Warren County! But it's not over yet! Read on for fun just waiting for you this weekend, and to find events to plan for as we slip into September. Also, congratulations to Land of Make Believe on yet another award. Only two weekends left to their season, read about them in the More Things To Do section below. Happy Labor Day, and Happy Wanderings!

Coming Up

Between May through September, a limited amount of kayaks are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for the public to enjoy. Life vests and paddles are included. Reservations are not available. For more information, please contact 973-937-8748.

Kick off our Labor Day weekend by stopping in to cool off with a white wine or cran-raspberry sangria. There will be live music from John Cain between 6pm-8:30pm.

Summer Nights on the Farm is Friday night neighborhood favorite featuring farm-fresh food, live music, kids activities, and good friends! Bring your own picnic blanket, favorite lawn chair, and beverage.

Great food, cold drinks, and awesome entertainment. Admission is free and this is a family-friendly event! 

Enjoy some music while having a nice dinner and drinks as Frank & Glenn from the 1910 Fruitgum Co. play.

Stop by every Friday for a lovely couple playing beautiful instruments. Food served until 10 pm; bar is open until midnight (or later if busy).

Villa Milagro invites you to have your labor day weekend picnic at their place! Bring your own tent, blanket and chair, pack your picnic basket, use their grill, and chill at this estate winery!

Bill Ihling, a solo singer/guitarist, turns loose his "inner troubadour” with a performance that features a wide variety of tunes from the Americana '60s-'70s singer-songwriter, old school country, and more.

Paddy and the Pale Boys play the traditional songs and music of Ireland and Scotland, along with some good ol' boy country and rock 'n' roll. "Who is Paddy?" you may ask. "And what exactly are Pale Boys?" Well, they are a band from northern New Jersey and they are all about passion.

Join the Paulinskill Valley Trail Committee (PVTC) for a group hike at Footbridge Park in Blairstown, NJ.  The PVTC, a Friends Organization of the Kittatinny Valley State Park, will host the hike.

Spend your afternoon at Brook Hollow Winery. There will be food from Humpty Juniors all day: Hamburger/cheeseburger, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwich, charcoal roasted pit beef, BBQ chicken sandwich, smoked pork roll sandwich, sodas, and 6 flavors of ice cream and various toppings.

Saturday evenings between April and October 2018, the United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey (UACNJ) Observatory, located in Jenny Jump State Forest in Hope, NJ will be open.

Join the Washington BID on the first Tuesday of every month for an evening of casual networking. This is a free to attend event where BID Goodnight Networking allows local business people to meet new colleagues and reconnect with those they know. Light fare is included at each event.

The Land of Make Believe in Hope has once again attained the highest designation from the Starfish Aquatics Institute for its safety record after an extensive stealth inspection. The Elite 5-Star Safety Award rating signifies Land of Make Believe’s Pirate Cove Water Park as one of the safest, most compliant water parks in the United States, as it has been so honored for the past several years. Celebrating more than 60 seasons at the foot of Jenny Jump Mountain, the park has been particularly recognized for the Water Park’s lifeguards for their efforts in Prevention, Surveillance, Emergency Care, Aquatic Rescue, Professionalism and Personal Safety. Plan Ahead
