What do all the great winter holidays have in common? Light! Shining lights are a symbol of hope and healing across religions. Even Winter Solstice - the shortest period of daylight and the longest night – is celebrated with a fire or lights to symbolize the returning sun. Our cover photo features the perennial truck at Yeagers Floor Covering on Belvidere Road in Lopatcong Township, decked out with lights for the holiday season.
We hope this last Wanderings of the year brings you light and joy (along with suggestions of various things to see and do this holiday season)! We are grateful to our Explore Warren followers and wish all a cheery, healthy New Year. Happy Holidays, and Happy Wanderings!

Hope's annual Moravian Christmas features 1,500 luminaries around the whole village. Guided lantern walking tours are Saturday only with reservations required. New this year are self guided tours with no reservations required.

As part of the Moravian Weekend Celebration in Hope, the Arts at St. Luke's is sponsoring a 1940s radio show presentation of "A Christmas Carol." The production, to be staged twice (7pm Dec. 13 and 3pm Dec. 15), creates the illusion of a radio station performance complete with sound effects and local news and ads. Please join Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Jacob Marley and the entire crew of this Dickens classic to usher in the holidays at the Hope Community Center at 5 Walnut Street. Seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
Villa Milagro will celebrates Las Posadas, a traditional early California/Mexican celebration of the journey of Joseph and Mary in search of lodging. As they were turned away at each inn, they were offered small bites of food to sustain their travels.
Each guest will receive all supplies needed, including cotton wicks and clean fragrances, to make an 8 oz candle with 100% soy wax. Choose your favorite color tin and you will also be able to decorate your lids with holiday miniatures & more!
Santa Claus is coming to Invertase! Bring your kids, friends & pets; Santa has a gift for everyone! Candy for the kids, treats for pets and Santa will be buying visiting adults a 5oz pour of their choosing (he recommends the Christmas Stout, Glad Tidings).
