Shippen's first military encampment since reopening to the public last week brings the 27th NJ Regiment back to the manor this Sunday. Visitors can share in the experiences of the men (and women) of this unit during the Civil War. Soldiers and officers will have tents and offices set up and the regiment’s surgeon will be on site. Firing demonstrations will be announced and our younger visitors are encouraged to participate in the “wooden rifle picket”. Tours of the main floor will be offered by our knowledgeable docents. Tours will be kept to smaller groups for a better visitor experience. A children’s activity (“Ciphers and the Civil War”) will be provided 12-2 pm with the museum director. Shippen Manor has new information and artifacts to share with visitors this season. Free admission.
For the month of August, Warren County's two museums located at historic Morris Canal sites will be open the third Sunday.

Life Choices’ is celebrating helping 10,000 babies in their program. Taking place at St. Magdalen’s Parish, the evening will beging with Vespers at 5:30pm, followed by 6pm social hour and hors d'oeuvres, dinner, dessert.
A nine-day guided group paddle on the Delaware River, with camping, meals, talks and activities along the way, giving people of all ages and experience levels a chance to have a truly "hands-on" river adventure. Paddle for a single day, a few days, or sign up for the whole trip. Single or tandem kayak rental (with paddle and PFD; tandem kayaks come with seats) is available and the event includes shuttle/livery transportation to and/or from launch and take-out sites, educational programs, meals, and camping sites. Participants may bring their own boats and must bring their own camping equipment.
Barnyard Buddies is a program that was designed for kids ages 2-8 who have an interest in farm life and love the outdoors.
The Centerville & Southwestern miniature railroad will be in operation for twilight rides and a photographer's event. Regular miniature train rides will be offered from 6-8pm. The photo event will commence once rides conclude.
