Uncle Floyd Vivino, a longtime television performer as well as on radio, stage and screen, is considered a New Jersey icon. He'll perform on his guitar and deliver a variety of his comedy monologues at Oxford Colonial United Methodist Church. Free, but space is limited and pre-registration is required. Later, between 2:30-4pm, tours of Shippen Manor will be conducted, and there will be a family-style ham dinner at the church at 4:30pm ($12/adult, $6/child).
Tour this Georgian-style manor, constructed of local stone, with two foot thick stone walls and three immense chimneys, and learn about Warren County's early iron industry and the people who worked in it.
Your child can learn how to make popular heritage crafts like dried apple dolls and corn husk dolls. They will learn a bit about their origins and history. We will use supplies from around the farm including hand dyed fabric for their attire.
