"Shippen Talks" with Dr. Scott Paul Gordon

The third installment of “Shippen Talks” will feature Dr. Scott Paul Gordon of Historic Jacobsburg (PA). Dr. Gordon will be discussing Historic Jacobsburg, the Henry family, gun-manufacturing, and their relation to the Oxford Furnace and Shippen Manor. This talk will take place in the lower dining room, accessible from the lower east porch.

This is family-friendly programming and is free of charge. Docents (Friends of Shippen) collect donations from visitors and all monies are used for projects at the museum.

Shippen Manor is a c.1754 iron master’s residence built by Dr. William Shippen, Sr. The Shippens were socially prominent members of a wealthy Philadelphia family. The museum offers guided tours on the 1st and 2nd Sundays from May to December, except on holidays.
